“Soft and tender scrambled eggs prepared with butter and topped with white truffles are a perfect start to a relaxing weekend.”
Ingredients:
3 eggs
1 spoon butter
fresh white truffle
salt
freshly ground pepper
3 eggs
1 spoon butter
fresh white truffle
salt
freshly ground pepper
Method:
- Forget the oil!
- Once you taste these scrambled eggs prepared with butter, you will never make them the old way again. The eggs are soft with special buttery taste. By adding a freshly grated white truffle, you will make your taste buds jumping for joy. ;)
- What else is important when preparing scrambled eggs? Mainly not to overcook them, for them to stay moist and tasty.
- Melt the butter in a pan. Crack the eggs onto a hot butter. Gently stir the eggs with a spoon or a spatula, then start to push them towards the centre of the pan. Add salt and pepper.
- Place the scrambled eggs on a plate.
- Over still hot eggs grate the fresh truffle.
- You can use black or white truffles.
Cooking Tip:
Truffles, these unusual mushrooms, can only be harvested with a help of a well-trained dog or a pig. They have a distinct flavour and are held in high esteem in various international cuisines, but they come with price. Unless you are a Chef, you probably won’t spot a difference between the white and the black truffle. The white truffle is considerably more aromatic, and therefore more valued and expensive. The price ranges around 2000 Euro per kilo for fresh, 1st class white truffles. It is best to use them fresh in warm dishes, so they can develop their true aphrodisiac aroma.
The 1st class means that the mushrooms are fresh and can be stored in a refrigerator for up to a month.
